As schools and businesses look to reduce their IT costs, more are deciding to virtualise their corporate networks to reduce energy costs and ongoing support costs.

Qubix Technology have been helping many schools move away from the traditional desktop network, in favour of virtual desktops using Citrix XenServer and XenDesktop.

The major benefit in migrating to Citrix has been on energy savings that can be made by moving to thin-clients, when compared to traditional computers.

Thin clients have a much longer life span, there are no moving parts and in the event of a failure, the thin client simply has to be unplugged and swapped with a new one, as they do not have an operating system that would need to be re-setup if it was a traditional computer.

We also virtualise servers and workstations where applicable using VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V.
